This afternoon, Congress passed a resolution to terminate President Donald Trump’s emergency declaration on the southern border.
Several senate republicans joined democrats to pass the measure.
It came despite a last-minute push by the president to win his party’s support
President Trump says “it is pure and simple, it’s a vote for border security. It’s a vote for no crime.”
The resolution was passed by the democratic-led house last month, and now heads to President Trump’s desk.
However, he plans to veto the measure.
