Four teens and one 12 year-old have been arrested in the fatal shooting of a Nashville singer.
Thursday afternoon, singer for the band Carverton, Kyle Yorlets, was killed outside of his home.
Police say that the five were in a stolen pickup truck in the alley behind Yorlets’ home when they spotted him outside.
The group spoke with Yorlets, took his wallet, and ultimately demanded that he give them his keys, according to investigators.
Police believe that he was fatally shot after he refused.
The pickup was recovered that evening the teens were later arrested at the West Nashville Wal-Mart.
Evidence, including two guns and another stolen vehicle were reportedly recovered there as well.
The group has now been charged with criminal homicide.
In a statement, Carverton says they are “in a state of shock” and “heartbroken” at the loss of their “brother.”
