The Los Angeles Lakers say they are mutually parting ways with head coach Luke Walton.
Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka made the announcement, it comes three days after Magic Johnson resigned as President of Basketball Operations. Pelinka says Walton leaving the Lakers is a mutual decision. In 3 seasons, as a head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers, Walton’s record was 98-148. His Lakers teams improved record-wise after each season, but they did not make the playoffs. Walton thanked Jeanie Buss and the Buss family for giving him the opportunity to coach the Lakers. He also says the franchise and the city will always be special to him and his family.
