In Venezuela, embattled president Nicolas Maduro is trying to expand the military by one million members.
He called on Venezuelans to enlist and train with the military to reach “the new goal of three million members” by the end of this year.
That came in a public speech Saturday to commemorate the anniversary of the failed coup against late president Hugo Chavez.
Maduro told the crowds that he had set the goal of two million members last year and achieved it.
Meanwhile, U.S. secretary of state Mike Pompeo toured the Colombia-Venezuela border Sunday.
