A highway median isn’t the best place to make your home if you’re a bear.
Luckily for this mama and her two cubs, some humans realized what was happening and stepped in to help.
Police shut down the road while environmental officers tranquilized the mother bear.
They then transported her and her two babies to a nearby state forest.
The family was easy to locate because the mother bear is one of 30 in the area scientists are tracking through GPS collars.
Officials say this is a good reminder that bears are starting to emerge from hibernation and could come into contact with people while foraging for food.
