Chaos erupted in Memphis Wednesday night
What started as a protest over the shooting death of 20 year-old Brandon Webber by U.S. Marshals devolving into violence.
Demonstrators threw bricks at police and vandalizing squad cars, leaving at least two dozen officers and deputies injured, as well as two journalists.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, U.S. Marshals were trying to stop Webber, who they say was wanted on multiple warrants, as he was getting into a vehicle outside a home Wednesday night.
Webber was fatally shot after allegedly ramming the vehicle into officers cars and then exited with a weapon.
Hernando Police say he had stolen a vehicle and shot its owner five times.
Authorities say they grieve for the loss of Webber’s life but wish people would wait for information before turning to violence.
