The senate is set to vote on the house-backed resolution to disapprove of Trump’s national emergency declaration.
And some members of the G.O.P. don’t see eye-to-eye with the president.
Republican senator mike lee tried to float legislation to restrict future declarations, but that effort failed to win trump’s approval.
But house speaker Nancy Pelosi isn’t interested, saying in a statement Wednesday, “the house will not take up this legislation to give President Trump a pass.”
President trump has not yet issued a veto during his tenure. If he ends up vetoing this measure, lawmakers will most likely not get enough votes to over-ride it.
