More than 100,000 participants around the world took to the streets for the Wings for Life World Run.
Registered runners and Wheelchair participants ran at the same time in 323 locations across 72 countries, including the United States. This is the 6th annual charity event, race officials say the proceeds will go towards spinal cord injury research. The winners of the races, were Ivan Motorin & Nina Zarina, both are from Russia. The biggest moment of the event was when David Mzee who has been paralyzed for years due to spinal cord injury, walked across a start line in Zug, Switzerland. Mzee suffered the injury in a gymnastics accident.
