The new iPhone 12 is coming with technology to use with 5G wireless networks — meaning iPhones will be 20 times faster than what is possible with 4G now.
“It will be better for video response and clarity,” said Tim Bajarin of Creative Strategies.
Cities all over the country are currently working to make 5G compatible with all types of phones.
“5G networks are still sparse there in certain parts of the US that are available,” said Bajarin. “A lot of it is not rolled out completely around the US.”
Once the 5G network is up in each city, internet users will not have to buy a new phone, the one that they have will automatically connect to 5G if it is around.
Apple says when 5G does become available everywhere, their new iPhone 12 will be ready.
“5G will bring a new level of performance for downloads and uploads higher quality video streaming, more responsive gaming, Real-Time interactivity and so much more,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple.
