WASHINGTON – – The White House releases a letter sent by President Biden to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi detailing the end of a National Emergency Proclamation 9844 used to build a border wall between the United States and Mexico.
The president called for an official end to the Trump era policy and key campaign promise for his predecessor.
In the letter released this Thursday, Biden describes the national emergency proclamation as “unwarranted “and “costly to the American taxpayer”.
Pausing construction on the border wall was one of the first acts done by President Biden upon taking office in January the 20th.
