The most senior Vatican official found guilty of sexual abuse, Cardinal george pell found out his fate Tuesday.
Cardinal George Pell handed a six-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting two choirboys during the 1990’s.
Chief Judge Peter Kidd calling Pell’s attacks quote “breath-takingly arrogant.”
But the judge added that pell was quote “not to be made a scapegoat for any failings or perceived failings of the catholic church.”
The 77-year-old must also be registered as a sex offender.
Pell’s lawyers say they will appeal the conviction.The court of appeal is scheduled to hear submissions in June.
