Dept. of Defense to Investigate Sexual Abuse Within Military

WASHINGTON –
The U.S. Department of Defense will begin an internal investigation to counter sexual assault and harassment within the military.
The agency will be looking to pursue investigations as to how to “battle enemies within the ranks” for the next 90 days.
According to a Memorandum on Countering Sexual Assault and Harassment, the goal is to focus on how members of the military are conducting oversight, what policies are being executed, and to what extent.
Senior Pentagon leadership has committed to delivering regular updates for the sake of transparency with the first one expected on February the 5, 2021.
