DOD: American Strike on Syria was Retaliation for American Killed in Iraq
The United States launched airstrikes in Syria on Thursday, targeting facilities near the Iraqi border used by Iranian-backed militia groups.
The strikes were approved under President Biden’s direction in retaliation to a rocket attack at an Iraqi airport that left 8 injured and the death of an American contractor on February the 15th.
The American strikes destroyed multiple facilities located at a border control point used by a number of Iranian-backed militant groups
The pentagon released a statement saying, “The operation sends an unambiguous message: President Biden will act to protect American and Coalition personnel.”
