As Halloween approaches during the pandemic, different types of haunted houses are popping up around California.
“We came up with this idea of a drive-thru and off we went and here we are,” said Brian Fields, co-founder of Pirates of Emerson in Pleasanton, California. “It took about six weeks to put it together and there are about 20 trailers full of stuff out there.”
Fields added guests can get spooked without ever leaving your car.
“It takes up about 10 acres and it’s over 20-minute drive, maybe 20-25 minute drive maybe if you take it nice and slow,” said Fields.
Kids who have gone through these haunted houses say they are just as scary as ever
“It was terrifying at parts because, like, they came out where you didn’t expect them to,” said Sydney Gilbert.
These unique exhibits are making Halloween happen safely during COVID-19.
