Ford is expanding a previous recall due to the risk of select vehicles rolling away.
According to Ford, around 2,500 2019 Rangers and nearly 260,000 2013 to 2016 fusions have an issue with fasteners on the transmission.
Over time, the fasteners could allow a shift cable to come loose and the transmission to change gears.
That, in turn, could allow the vehicle to roll away if the brakes aren’t applied.
At this time, there are three reports of incidents related to the recall, with one injury.
Ford says owners of the affected Rangers should take them to a dealership to have the brackets fastned.
Affected Fusion owners, on the other hand, are being told to always use their parking break until a remedy can be found.
