Iran has attempted to seize a British oil tanker following the seizure of one of their tankers last week.
It happened in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday when five Iranian boats surrounded the British Heritage.
Those boats reportedly ordered the ship to enter Iranian waters.
The British warship HMS Montrose was escorting the tanker and immediately trained its guns on the small boats.
After giving the Montrose gave them a verbal warning to disengage, the boats complied
The attempted seizure happened less than a week after the British marines detained an Iranian oil taker off of Gibraltar.
Reports indicate that was requested by the U.S., but the U.K. accused the ship of ferrying oil to Syria.
Iran threatened to seize a British ship shortly after that incident and the British Heritage was on alert due to that threat.
The move also comes amid increased tensions between Iran and the U.S.
