It did not too long for Luke Walton, to find a new job, in less than a week. After leaving the Los Angeles Lakers, Walton is officially now the Head Coach of the Sacramento Kings.
Sacramento Kings General Manager Vlade Divac named Walton as the team’s new head coach, per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Divac says he has known Walton for many years, he looks forward to Walton’s leadership on the court, as they work to build a winning culture for many years to come. Walton takes over for Dave Joerger, who was fired on Thursday. In three seasons, as a head coach for the lakers, Walton’s record was 98-148. Before coaching the Lakers, Walton was an Assistant Coach with the Golden State Warriors from 2014 to 2016, winning a title in 2015. Sacramento finished 39-43 this season, the most wins for the franchise since the 2005-06 season.
