Moderna: Antibody After 6 Months of Second Dose
A new study from the New England Journal of Medicine claims that antibodies against COVID-19 remain 6 months following the second dose of the Moderna vaccine.
Although early, the study focused on 33 adult participants and revealed that antibodies remained high in all age groups tested at day 209.
They also say that the Moderna M-RNA vaccine indicated 94% efficacy.
Ongoing studies are monitoring immune responses beyond 6 months as well as determining the effect of a booster dose to extend their duration.
In a separate study released this morning, the New England Journal of Medicine also revealed that the Moderna vaccines are preventing people without previous contact from covid-19 from infection.
