NYC Ends Contracts with Trump
New York City formally proclaims to cut ties with President Trump as a results of last week’s incident at the Capitol.
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the city will terminate all business contracts with the president effective immediately.
The Trump organization is under city contract to operate the two ice rinks and a carousel in Central Park as well as a golf course in the Bronx.
De Blasio says the Trump organization profits about $17 million a year from those sites.
A Trump Organization spokesperson tells the Associated Press that city cannot cancel the contracts and the company will “fight vigorously.”
