WASHINGTON – –
The Pentagon says Russian military activity in the arctic is not unnoticed.
Spokesperson John Kirby says he cannot go into specifics of their intel, however, the U.S. is closely monitoring as the Russians who are refurbishing Soviet-era airfields.
In a statement this week, Kirby said the arctic is a potential corridor between the Indo-pacific and Europe and the U.S. Homeland.
He also claimed that the country is ready to protect its national security interests.
