Last week, Michigan State Police troopers from the Gaylord Post asked for the public's help identifying the owner of a vehicle involved in a hit and run crash on the morning of October 4 on Hayes Tower Road in Hayes Township.

Several tips were received, and troopers were able to locate and interview the driver, a 36-year-old Gaylord woman.

The woman had left the scene of the crash and did not report the damage to police or the owner of the damaged property.

Parts from her vehicle were recovered at the scene and she is now facing charges of hit and run.

The woman’s boyfriend, a 26-year-old man, was arrested at their home in Gaylord on an outstanding warrant for parole violation.
