MSP Takes Over an Investigation of a Traffic Stop Shooting Involving a Grand Rapids Police Officer
Grand Rapids Police say an officer was conducting a traffic stop. When the driver got out his car and ran away.
There was a struggle once the officer caught up to the man. That's when it's said that the officer pulled his gun, killing the driver. Police says it's not clear why the man was originally pulled over. Though the car appeared to have the wrong license plate.
Michigan State Police have taken over the investigation. They will review the officer's body camera which had fallen off during the struggle, but continued recording.
