School Supplies Available at Cadillac Salvation Army
With classes beginning in some Cadillac schools on Monday and others in just a couple of weeks, many parents might find it difficult to gather school supplies for their child.
The Cadillac Salvation Army is one place they can go to get the essentials.
Lt. Liz Bock said a backpack alone can cost parents about $20, she said that price doesn't including the other basic supplies such as pens and paper; because of the need, the Cadillac Area Salvation Army is collecting and handing out backpacks, notebooks, folders and crayons.
Another nonprofit organization going out into the community to hand out supplies Tuesday evening is the Revival Center.
"We've been able to just go and get some backpacks and just stuff that we've had here, we've grabbed some stuff. We don't have a lot. Mostly clients who come into our food pantry if they have kids we are able to help with backpacks and stuff," said Cadillac Area Salvation Army's Lt. Liz Bock.
