Clemson star quarterback Trevor Lawrence and his girlfriend raised more than 2,500 dollars to help Coronavirus victims and their families, through gofundme.com.
When Clemson officials got light of this, they informed Lawrence that the page violated NCAA rules. Then Clemson officials shut down their page “COVID-19 Family Relief and Support.” But the NCAA says, the couple can resume their efforts to raise more funds to help fight the illness. The NCAA said in a statement it did not ask Clemson to take down the gofundme.com page. The NCAA also says it will continue to work with its schools to ensure athletes and those affected by the virus are supported. It also added “We applaud Trevor for his efforts.” A Clemson spokesperson says he does not know if Lawrence and Mowry are restarting their fundraising page.
