President Donald Trump has announced a deal to lift steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada and Mexico.
The President suggesting that it will soon have tangible results.
Trump saying “The great farmers and manufacturers and steel plants will make our economy even more successful than it already is. If that’s possible. Which it is possible”
The move also clears a key hurdle for Trump’s replacement for the North American Free Trade Agreement.
It’s something the Canadian Prime Minister says will benefit workers and consumers in both Canada and the United States.
Justin Trudeau also adding that they are optimistic that the United States-Mexico-Canada agreement will move forward in the coming weeks.
But despite an agreement from the leaders, a final passage of the USMCA is still unclear.
Some Democrats are voicing concerns about labor and environmental provisions contained in the deal.
