United States National Baseball Team name Mike Scioscia as Manager
The United States National Team has picked the man to lead the squad of making this Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan in hopes of winning the gold medal for the first time in more than two decades. That man is former Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia, as he is named the new skipper.
Scioscia and Team USA, Olympic will play in the Baseball Americas Qualifier this June in Florida. Scioscia was the Angels manager from 1999-2018, winning more than 1600 games. Before that, the two-time All-Star was a long-time player for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He won two World Series rings with the Dodgers under the late Tommy Lasorda, who just passed away in January, the very man who led the United States to its’ only gold medal in Olympic competition.
