Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez will retire in June
The man who has been the face for the Wisconsin Badgers is retiring.
Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez will step down from his role at the end of this June. Alvarez was the head of Wisconsin’s athletic department since 2004. Before that, he was the Badgers’ football head coach from 1990 to 2005, winning 119 games. Before he took over at the head coach, the Badgers were a laughing stock. He turned around the program with three Big Ten championships and three Rose Bowl victories, and Wisconsin is still a power in football all because of what he started.
